Dr. Clara Marín Orenga graduated Veterinary Medicine at the CEU Cardenal Herrera University of Valencia (Spain) in 2004 and obtained her European doctoral degree in Veterinary Sciences at the same university in 2009. She was qualified in 2014 by the European College of Poultry Veterinary Science (ECPVS). From 2003 to 2004 she did an internship in the laboratory of Microbiology and Microbiology Analysis of Food Products from the CEU Cardenal Herrera University and later she also started to work at the same university in the preparation of I+D projects for the Spanish National Plan. During 2005 she was actively collaborating in the laboratory of Quality Meat (Department of Animal Science) of the Polytechnic University of Valencia (Spain). Later, she was granted with a 3 years fellowship to work at the Animal Technology and Research Center (CITA-IVIA) in Castellon (Spain) belonging to the Conselleria of Agriculture, Fishing and Nourishment of the Valencian Community, and finally she enjoyed a 2 years contract at the same institution. She also carried out several research stays at the Animal Health Reference Laboratory (Madrid, Spain) and at the Department for the Environment, Food & Rural Affairs from the Animal Health and Veterinary Laboratories Agency (New Haw, United Kingdom). At present, Dr. Marín Orenga is employed at the Department of Production and Animal Health, General Veterinary Health, and Science & Technology of Food Product at the CEU Cardenal Herrera University. She has an extensive scientific background which main research lines cover the study of the epidemiology of Salmonella and Campylobacter both in poultry production and in exotic animals. As author and co-author she has published about 40 original scientific papers and 3 books, has participated in numerous national and international meetings and seminars, being also member of different Committees, and she has been supervisor of several PhD thesis. During her scientific career, she has also participated in a national I+D project, in 24 I+D contracts and she also owns the authorship of one granted patent.
