Project Coordinator
PhD Daniela Silva (ALS-CONTROLVET) holds a PhD in Biomedical Sciences and is currently the Research and Development manager of ALS Controlvet, being responsible for management and coordination of all R&D projects within the Biological Sciences area. She has broad experience in laboratory and field experiments regarding selection and characterization of bacteriophages.
Daniela Silva has graduated in Biochemistry by University of Coimbra (Portugal) and PhD in Biomedical Sciences by the Abel Salazar Biomedical Sciences Institute (ICBAS), University of Porto (Portugal). In addition, Daniela also obtained the certification as coordinating investigator of practical animal research from the Portuguese National Authority for Animal Health (DGV) and participated in relevant training courses covering animal infectious diseases, diagnostics, molecular and immunological techniques, hygiene and safety. The early stages of her scientific career were developed at the Institute of Molecular and Cell Biology (IBCM) in Porto, and in the Membrane biophysics group of the Rudolf Virchow Center at the University of Wurzburg (Germany), collaborating in different research projects. Since 2013, she join ALS Controlvet Company where she R&D Manager for Biological Sciences being responsible for management and coordination of all R&D projects of the company within the Biological Sciences area. She is author of 6 scientific papers, she has participated on one patent.
